I’m thoroughly convinced that genAI is “net negative” technology; That is, it does far more harm than good to the world.

How is it NOT a net negative tech? Its approach is clearly machiavellian: Development and deployment at any cost- to privacy, to people's livelihoods, to the environment, not to mention it's open THEFT. Data is being used with zero permission from all sorts of people, authors included.

Those who say that genAI is “creating art,” clearly have no idea what the heck art is nor have any real respect for it.

GenAI as a software development tool (as so many have harped about online) is a shortcut but a very bad one. It “writes” bug-ridden code, introduce bugs as they “fix” them, and "write" code that's unsafe and easily hacked; It’s technical debt up the wazoo.

It instills confusion in vulnerable children that develop emotional reliance on AI chatbots, enables easy cyberbullying by children and adults alike, and are used to produce scams that are more sophisticated than ever.

The ghastly list goes on, and on, and ON. If this shit could be stuffed back into the proverbial box, it SHOULD BE. But nope; Full speed ahead because these companies have to keep doing their thing.
